Boxing Day Handicap Results 2009
Well done to the 28 of you who braved the icy roads to run this year. Despite the cold and slippery conditions, the times were only slightly down on last year. The winner of the handicap race was Sharon Johnstone, closely followed by Steve Lomas and Rachael Lawrence. I managed to get the finishes within 7 minutes this year, but I’m still well short of my 2 minute goal – its proven to be a lot harder than I expected. I’ll have to get some lessons from the “master handicapper” Phil Cheek for next year’s event.
The fastest time was again Tim Pattison in a respectable 22:41.
Many thanks to the helpers at the start and finish, particularly Ian Hughes, Raph Murray, Pete Nolan and Jon Falkner. Last but not least thanks as ever to Richard at the St. Dunstan Inn for the excellent soup, sandwiches and hospitality.
